Culture and shows
On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the exhibition, traditional appointment with the productions of the companies belonging to Acli Arte e Spettacolo, we have chosen to only put new shows on the bill, real debuts, authentic testimony of the vitality enjoyed by the cultural realities of our territory. A continuous commitment, in the name of love for theatre, which also becomes aggregation, attention to social issues, desire to promote culture and passion. We also decided to ask the public how they liked what they will see on stage and to reward the winning company with a special twentieth anniversary plaque.!
During the event we will also witness the final phase of the competition for unpublished theatrical monologues Monologando, now in its fifth edition. Also in this case the public will decide the winner, among the selected finalists.

Love in action
HARLEQUIN COMPANY

The Arlecchino company, born from the former Morassutti company, to celebrate the 60 years of theater offers the world premiere, with the collaboration of some members of the dissolved company, an unpublished version of the musical comedy “Nina no far la stupida” by Arturo Rossato and Gian Capo, successfully staged, by the same former actors and actresses in the 1960s. The new adaptation, entitled “Love in Opera”, features the addition of new characters, part of the original text and changes to some scenes.
The events take place in the charming and little-frequented town of the Brenta Riviera, in the shadow of the wonderful Malcontenta villa. In the full jovial spirit of commedia dell'arte and romantic comedy
Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", the new Harlequins will succeed (Momoletto) and Colombina (Coralline) to shuffle the cards and make love triumph and marry young lovers opposed by guardian and parent?

A light text, lively and set up in a decidedly comical way. However, “Two Dozen Scarlet Roses” is not just a nice comedy of errors. It is a text in which the desire and need to dream of what we cannot have shines through. And so, a bouquet of roses received from the wrong person generates misunderstandings, quarrels and bad moods, until it undermined a couple's relationship that seemed solid and free of uncertainty. On the other hand, as Alexandre Dumas said “Marriage is such a heavy chain that it takes three to carry it!”

In the opinion of critics, “Sincerely liars” is the masterpiece of the first season of the illustrious and famous British playwright, the most farcical one, but also endowed with an astonishing virtuosity in constructing an enthralling piece with the minimum of means, that is, a banal misunderstanding and two couples belonging to different generations. It all revolves around a theme of farce: the lies of the characters and the misunderstandings they cause, in an apparently orderly mènage.

First love is never forgotten, you are. Especially if he comes back after twenty years when your life has gone in a completely different direction, as for Netta. Or if you've been chasing it forever without having the courage to catch it, as happens to Sebastian. Or if you have earned it but take it for granted, like Checo does… Migrants returning to their native land, cooks who are a bit fortune tellers, seamstresses in love, provincial Don Juan, dissatisfied wives, grandmothers who know a lot, cousins – almost- of city, workers afflicted by selective stuttering, husbands a little distracted, parents of the bride a little over the top:
eleven characters intertwine their stories, they chase each other, they argue, they are deceived, they compare, they meet and clash for seven days, until the showdown against the backdrop of the mayor's daughter's wedding, the most awaited event in the whole country, which no one can miss. A crackling merry-go-round of misunderstandings and surprises that entertainingly tells of how we were - and how we still are! – smiling at our flaws and appreciating the merits of our people.

It really is possible to organize the perfect crime? Human ingenuity is able to anticipate any move like in a chess game with life? Tony Wendice, former American tennis champion, after discovering his wife's affair with English crime writer Mark Halliday, It will take him a year and a half to plan Margot's murder down to the smallest detail and to inherit her immense fortune.. But in life things don't necessarily go the way they do
one expects them and so does Tony, Unfortunately, the chess game reopens. Who will win? Who will make the final "checkmate" move??
In this play by Frederick Knott, that Alfred Hitchcock will use to shoot the film of the same name in 1954, we find, in addition to the inevitable ingredients of yellow (voltage, suspense, twists and turns), also an interesting psychological dimension of the characters for which, at the end of the day, it is not possible to establish who is really the victim and who is the executioner. Truth and lies dwell in each of them…come, Perhaps, in each of us.

A rising middle-aged surgeon, David Mortimore, feverishly counts the minutes that separate him from the start of the prestigious Ponsonby Conference. Elegant, confident. Life smiles at him. His career is about to smile on him. But David Mortimore's Perfect Day is about to change its tone… The entrance of a young woman and her incredible revelation begins a crazy series of twists, of accidents, of imaginative inventions, of shameful lies, in a crazy vortex of disguises, misunderstandings, balancing act, quarrels, syringes, sedatives and suppositories. Hilarious comedy full of twists and turns that slides between misunderstandings and paradoxical situations “It runs in the family” is a funny show that touches on an unusual theme in prose, that is, it makes fun of a world, that of healthcare, which we unfortunately have to deal with on a daily basis. The plot of the comedy is frenetic, there is a constant succession of misunderstandings and impersonations that involve the audience from start to finish. Ultimately, the role of theater today is precisely this, look at the things of life with a different eye, disenchanted and irreverent,
because laughing is good for your health.

THE TWO SISTERS

Before the show, he presents the twentieth anniversary plaque to the show most appreciated by the public.
Nena and Lilla are two sisters, now of a certain age, remained unmarried and dedicated to the care of a cumbersome sick mother. Overcome by the feeling of living in a prison and in different ways attached to religion - more superficially and so as not to arouse chatter in the village than out of real conviction - they are very fond of a small monkey named Tombo, gift from the late sailor brother. Their routine will be heavily disrupted by a revelation that will put them face to face with the most terrible of choices.
Based on a short story by Tommaso Landolfi, who wanted to double the t's of the word spinster to underline a
certain propensity and vocation of the protagonists not to talk too much, the story actually shows us two women, perhaps won by too many regrets, who discuss very sensitive issues of faith not without an underlying macabre humor that paints a society well, that of the 1930s, on the brink of a new catastrophe.
